Islamabad—President Asif Ali Zardari has made it clear that the decision to deport arrested US national terror suspects would be taken after completion of investigation, adding that, US visitors in Pakistan should collaborate with Pakistani security departments due to security reason.
He said this during meeting with US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne. W. Peterson here at Awan-e-Sadr on Saturday in which issues related to operation Rah-e-Nijat against militants in South Waziristan, arrest of US nationals in Pakistan, non stoppage of vehicles by US nationals at Pickets in Lahore and bilateral relations in length were discussed.
The Pakistani investigation agencies, the President said, is interrogating arrested US national terror suspects and decision to deport them would be taken after receiving investigation report.
The President made it clear to US ambassador to that everybody is bound to ensure implementation on the law in Pakistan therefore US visitors in Pakistan should collaborate with Pakistani security departments.
Whatever security arrangements have been taken in Pakistan they are in interest of foreigners, he said. The President and US ambassador to Pakistan also discussed ways and means to boost economic, trade and defence relations between Pakistan and US.
The President went on to say that US should come forward to help Pakistan in war against terrorism. US should honour its pledges with regard to establishment of economic opportunity zone in tribal areas of the country, he said.
Speaking Patterson on the occasion, said that her country respects Pakistan’s rules and regulations and we have complete confidence on capability of security departments of Pakistan.
We are enhancing our ties with Pakistan and relations between both countries in every field would become stronger in coming days, she said.
